What’s ahead for the Carp Co this winter. As the weather gets cooler the orders do slow down but for us this is a great time to get some work done to improve the Farm to better our service, quality and availability to our customers. Autumn is a time where we start harvesting ponds and moving fish about to get the best growth possible and we put some of these fish in holding tanks so they are ready for sale for early part of the season. Maintenance and Reparing our pondsWe will then be getting the ponds ready throughout the winter by desilting, repairing banks and liming. Ready to refill at the start of the year for 2023 production. Here are some behind the scenes shots of moving the Cold Water team moving our ponds.
We will also be getting even more muddy as always getting 8 new 9 meter flow through tanks up and running ready for next season. Lots of other smaller projects will be carried out which will improve our holding tanks as far as filtration/health including a complete overhaul of our Tench holding system, which is in need of some TLC for sure! Here are some before shots, so we can look back on how we improve the system in the near future.
Improvements will also be carried out on our indoor systems to ensure the best possible health and the ability to offer even more stunning Koi that ever before. As with every winter I’m sure the job list will grow too! |
