Delightful Flowers vary from lilac to Lavender and Purple. Excellent for the bog garden or any damp place in the garden. Makes a nice back drop for your pond.

Attractive grass-like, sword-shaped leaves that are purple-tinged at the base. The large flowers are between 5–8 cm (3–6 in) across.

Iris setosa is tolerant of many kinds of habitats. It can be found in bogs (or swamps), meadows, beside rivers (or streams), on lake shores, headlands and light woodland. It can grow in sand or gravelly soils.  Although, normally considered a wetland plant, it does well in dry soil, too.

Iris setosa is one of the hardiest species of irises, but does needs a cold dormant period in winter, and so does not do as well in warm climates. As a native plant of Alaska, it is extremely cold-hardy. It would only be killed, if never given any summer at all.

Flowering Time: June to July

Maximum height: 45cm

These will come in a 9cm plant pot and will need replanting.
