Swan Mussels are a great addition to garden ponds and wildlife areas. They are filter feeders, feeding on single celled algae and daphnia etc. 

Can live up to 12 years.

They are not suitable for filtered clear ponds as they rely on suspended algae and plankton for food. However, for the greener less filtered garden ponds or wildlife areas make a superb place for swan mussels to live and thrive.

It is important that no copper based algae treatments are used while swan mussels are present. Copper will kill them.
